This game was done during the Mini Jame Gam #25. This is our first submission for a Game Jam. This game was made in Rust with Bevy Engine.

Overview

WARNING: GAME NOT FINISHED. A lot of features is missing and lack a lot of polish.

The game unfolds as the player navigates an expansive ocean, armed with a collection of loot. In this unique maritime adventure, every box holds the potential for discovery or deception. Some are treasure troves of valuable resources, while others conceal cunning traps that challenge the player's strategic instincts. To progress, players must deftly maneuver their cardboard box raft, making critical decisions about which boxes to trust and which to approach with caution. The dynamic mix of exploration and risk management adds an extra layer of excitement to the journey, keeping players on their toes in this unpredictable sea.

Gameplay

Immerse yourself in the captivating tale of Carty, abandoned by her parents within the confines of a cardboard box and left adrift on the open sea. Miraculously, her makeshift vessel withstands the water's elements, creating a fragile sanctuary. Now, Carty must navigate this vast ocean, scavenging for survival by collecting items adrift on the waves. Yet, her journey is far from serene—beneath the surface of seemingly innocuous loot lurk cunning traps that challenge her resourcefulness. As she forages for essentials, the once calm sea transforms into a realm where mysterious monsters materialize, adding an unexpected layer of peril to Carty's struggle for survival. Will she overcome the challenges that lie beneath the surface, or will the unforgiving sea become her final adversary? Dive into this unique adventure and discover the fate that awaits Carty in her cardboard haven.

Controls

• W, A, S, D: Steer your boat through the ever-shifting currents. 
• Spacebar: Seek refuge and momentarily conceal yourself within the safety of your cardboard sanctuary.
• Left Mouse Click: Illuminate the unknown by tossing a glowstick into the darkness. Watch as its ethereal glow reveals hidden truths and exposes the illusions that surround you.

Missing features

• Ability to control your light. Using more light allow you to see further but consume battery faster
• More detailed Sanity system with hallucinations. When you're on low Sanity you see hallucinations, for example a rock that is in reality a monster, or obstacles that spawn in front of you.
• And some other minor features that we didn't have time to implemen
